Synopsis:
TANGO ZEN: RETURNING TO TRADITION is a contemplative journey through the heart of Buenos Aires, where tango still breathes as a living tradition. At its center is Chan Park—a former NASA engineer turned Tango Zen facilitator—whose story bridges East and West, science and spirit, solitude and connection.
In a time when tango is drifting toward performance and spectacle, this film becomes both testimony and call to action: a reminder that true tango is not about the steps, but about energy, stillness, and connection—with oneself, one’s partner, and the universe.
Through rare footage, intimate workshops, and voices of legendary dancers like Ricardo Vidort, Myriam Pincen, and Pedro Sánchez, Tango Zen rekindles the soul of the milonga as it once was: communal, meditative, and deeply human.
Directed by Juan Cruz Varela, this documentary is not merely something to be watched—it’s something to be felt. It calls us back to presence and opens a doorway to tango as a journey of transformation, connection, and homecoming.
