Mamma Bella dances tango. ❤️
Mamma Bella is Silvia’s mother and a beginner tango dancer. Silvia is my organizer in Rome and hosts tango events under Tango Allegria, www.tangoallegria.it.
I met Mama Bella for the first time when I went to Rome for a workshop in 2006. Last Wednesday, she attended my Tango Zen weekly class on Zoom for the second time, dancing with her daughter Silvia.
Despite being a beginner, Mama Bella showed great potential in her dancing. During the class, she embraced her daughter and walked to the music, enjoying every moment of the dance. I was delighted to see her dancing with such enthusiasm and grace.
When I complimented her on her dance, she humbly responded, “I didn’t know what I was doing,” demonstrating the mindset of a true beginner. It was a beautiful reminder that learning and growth are possible at any age or level of experience, as long as one approaches it with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
Mama Bella's journey in tango is, in my opinion, a great example for all dancers who want to dance with joy and passion, in my opinion.
