Director Chan Park is a writer, documentary film director, engineer, and tango dance instructor with expertise in many fields including university training in science and engineering, 20 years of engineering experience at NASA and patent law practice. He also has background in classical music, fine art, mind/body medicine, martial arts, Oriental philosophy, and first hand experience of various cultures, all of which he has combined to create a unique method to teach the traditional tango as danced in Buenos Aires. For years he has offered classes and workshops of tango in more than 22 countries (68 cities).

Chan Chan’s book, Tango Zen: Walking Dance Meditation, was published in 2005. A bilingual, Spanish-English edition of the book was published by Editorial Kier in 2008, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Also limited editions of the book were sold out in Italian and Korean. Página 12, Kiné, BA Tango, EntreCasa, and Uno Mismo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Tangodanza in Germany published interviews with Chan describing TangoZen philosophy and teaching method.  http://www.TangoZen.com.

Between 2008 and 2012,  Chan Park submerged himself in the traditional tango culture of Buenos Aires, dancing almost every day and interviewing many of the experienced dancer in the traditional tango scenes there in an attempt to understand what inspires people about this dance which is unique part of the culture of Buenos Aires, while it is also enriching lives of people around the world. Different from the tango danced to impress people with the intricacy of movement, Park discovered and would like to convey in his classes as well as in his documentary that the social tango in Buenos Aires is life danced on the floor – intimate, complicated and personal.

Now Chan Park lives with Regina, his wife, near Zurich, Switzerland.  They married in March, 2013 and enjoy dancing one or two tandas almost everyday.
